Elmer's Big Parade Plymouth 2019

Charity project to raise much needed funds for St Luke's Hospice Plymouth, an Elmer sculpture trail of 40 elephants was staged across Plymouth during the summer of 2019. Raising awareness of  the important end of life care and bereavement support St Luke's provides and encouraging families to explore the city, the trail was followed by an auction in autumn which raised a grand total of £323,750 for the hospice.

Influenced by the connection we have to our ancestors through the night sky, and the tales we weave from the stars, my design features the constellations that you can see from the UK night sky during the summer months. Featuring landscapes from Dartmoor and Plymouth Hoe I hoped bring a sense of familiarity for those  who know the local area. My Elmer raised £8,000 at the auction, helping to contribute to the fantastic sum raised for St Luke's.
